T. DAVID MARSHALL, Lawyer
T. David Marshall has over a decade of experience focused strictly on litigation. He has appeared before all levels of court in Ontario and has extensive experience before various tribunals across the province.
David’s clients include both institutional and municipal clients and all manner of individual litigants. David has previously acted as agent-counsel to the Toronto Local Appeal Body (TLAB) and has in-depth experience in administrative law, having co-drafted the TLAB’s constituting Rules of Practice and Procedure.
David is also one of just a few lawyers in the province with experience before the CRTC litigating complex telecommunications matters, and working with municipalities in respect to Municipal Access Agreements (MAAs).
He maintains a busy practice and oversees the work of almost every file associated with the firm. He focuses on representing clients in (among other things) estate litigation, contractual disputes, defamation law and property disputes.
David is the current President of the Haldimand Law Association and maintains membership in multiple professional organizations, including both the Ontario and Canadian Bar Association.
He holds a bachelor of arts in political science from the University of Waterloo; a certificate in Mandarin (Chinese) from Hua Dong University in Shanghai, PRC; a law degree from the Sheffield Hallam University in the UK; a bachelor of laws from Carleton University and a Master of Laws degree from the University of Ottawa.
In what little spare time he does have, David enjoys target shooting, hiking, and spending time with his wife and three children.

Matthew Marshall was born and raised in Haldimand County. He attended the University of Ottawa to pursue a bachelor’s in Economics and Social Sciences, and studied law at the University of New Brunswick.
Called to the Ontario Bar in 2022, Matt has an interest in legal history, litigation, and conflicts arising between innovators and regulatory bodies. In his spare time, Matt enjoys reading about history, politics, and philosophy, and practicing marksmanship.

Before graduating from law school and obtaining a Juris Doctor Degree from the University of New Brunswick, Matthew completed a Bachelor of Social Science (Hons) with majors in both Criminology and Political Science from the University of Ottawa. Matthew also holds a Master of Arts in Political Science from Carleton University.
While completing his undergraduate degree, Matthew served as a Parliamentary Committee Volunteer, volunteered with Democracy Watch, and played as a Gee-Gee with the University of Ottawa Men’s Rugby Team. Matthew also played rugby with the Ottawa Irish Men’s Team during his undergraduate and graduate schooling.
During his master’s degree, Matthew volunteered with Carleton University’s Paul Menton Centre for Students with Disabilities as a proofreader and editor and worked with Parks Canada’s Protected Areas Establishment Branch as a Consultation Advisor & Researcher.
Matthew is excited to be able to continue serving the community as a lawyer – Matthew is fearless when it comes to advancing his clients’ interests and welcomes the challenges complex cases pose.

Marlene holds a J.D. from Osgoode Hall Law School and a J.S.D (PhD in law) from Cornell Law School. Marlene specializes in divorce and all areas of family law and her strength lays in her zealous advocacy in litigation and her calm third party neutrality in mediation. She excels in complex cases where any of property division, child and spousal support, custody and visitation, business ownership, inheritance, pensions, LGBTQ + rights, grandparents rights and the matrimonial home are at issue. Marlene has been practicing family law for sixteen years and is a knowledgeable and compassionate lawyer committed to resolving all types of family law cases for her clients.
On a personal level, Marlene has four children and is an avid runner. She has run the Boston Marathon and the Toronto Marathon and she always goes the extra mile for her clients. Marlene aspires to continue lawyering with the best interests of her clients at heart and at the forefront of her practice.
